Project Award: Building 85 Occupation

Gentle Consulting has recently been awarded the contract to manage the occupation of a new multi-million pound purpose-built laboratory, teaching and office facility for the University of Southampton.
This includes the decant of around 300 staff and associated equipment into the new 10,000m2 building together with the provision of an extensive FF&E package incorporating specialist equipment, furniture, AV and fixtures.
The Building Occupation Management service has been developed in response to Client demands for a dedicated and robust approach to these activitites. This is an important and often overlooked stage of a construction project which is critical to its overall success.
Gentle Consulting brings a structured and robust management approach to these activities ensuring that buildings are occupied in a seamless fashion with a minimum of disruption to the staff and business operations.
The Building Occupation Management service includes the provision of Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) together with the relocation of existing assets and personnel. Particular emphasis is placed on close communication and liaison with users and stakeholders, environmental management associated with the removal redundant assets, specialist equipment integration and programme coordination.
From start to finish, Gentle provided a diligent yet refreshingly agile approach. The project was completed on time and to budget.
