Construction Management

Gentle Consulting has been providing construction management services since the early 1990s for a wide range of commercial and public sector clients such as the University of Southampton, Eastleigh Borough Council, UBS Asset Management and Oxford Brookes University. As construction managers we take the role of Principal Contractor and are responsible for the procurement and on-site management of various package contractors necessary to deliver the completed facility on time, within budget, with health and safety and quality as a primary concern. This approach brings many advantages over more traditional forms of procurement where the primary focus for the main contractor is financial gain. Our management team is provided on a fixed fee basis, with all contractors being directly appointed by the client. This approach offers complete financial transparency for the client together with a greater scope and flexibly to accommodate change.

Gentle Consulting provide an experienced and motivated construction management team with the sole focus of delivering the project in line with the clients quality, programme and budgetary aspirations, with particular emphasis placed on health, safety and environmental issues. We have extensive experience working within live operational environments such as University campuses, where our management approach, which involves a significant level of stakeholder liaison/communication, proves particularly popular. Our staff are supported by robust processes and procedures for administering construction management projects which have been tried, tested and refined over the past 16 years. These have been updated and expanded as required to meet changing legislation and best practice. We are an active participant in the Considerate Constructor Scheme, with all our sites signing up to this methodology.
