The match started at an intense pace with both sides trying to make an impression on the game. CEI Electrical had the better of the opening exchanges and took the lead with an early strike that beat an unsighted Tom Bowden in the Gentle Consulting goal.
Gentle Consulting rallied and were soon back on level terms after a goalkeeping error saw them awarded a penalty which Leigh Channon duly dispatched.
Lee Harris then put Gentle Consulting 2-1 up after a CEI Electrical defender slipped whilst in possession, presenting Harris with an opportunity 8 yards from goal which he slotted past the opposition goalkeeper with ease.
CEI Electrical could have crumbled after surrendering their lead, however they showed great resilience and forced a superb save from Tom Bowden who clawed the ball away when it looked destined for the top left hand corner.
Chances came and went at both ends of the pitch, with Jack Goodwin having an opportunity to cement Gentle Consulting's lead, however he was denied a goal after forcing a good save from the CEI Electrical goalkeeper.
CEI Electrical continued to push for an equaliser and it finally came with what was undoubtedly the goal of the game, a weak defensive header fell to a CEI Electrical midfielder who showed great technique with a wonderful volley from 25 yards leaving Bowden in the Gentle Consulting goal with no chance.
CEI Electrical continued to enjoy the better of the game and Mark Chamberlain, Tom Prow and Pete Milne all performed key defensive duties aided by the tireless Kevin Furnell in midfield to keep Gentle Consulting in the game.
The visitors looked the more likely to take the lead, however during a spell of CEI dominance Craig Taylor broke away and went on a powerful run through the heart of CEI's defence before smashing the ball past the despairing goalkeeper to make the score 3-2 to Gentle Consulting.
The scoring was wrapped up by Leigh Channon who coolly converted his second of the game after a good move to make the final score Gentle Consulting 4 CEI Electrical 2.
Gentle Consulting were once again well supported by the vocal Trevor Snoxell, Bill Everton, Viv Everton, James Everton and Toby Everton.
After the game, the teams headed to The Brickmakers pub, Swanmore for refreshments. Thanks to the kind donations from players and supporters the game raised £100 for the Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity.
