The construction of a highly serviced three storey specialist conservation centre for material research and conservation at the Winchester School of Art campus to enable the relocation of the world famous Textile Conservation Centre from Hampton Court. The building was opened by Princess Anne and provides facilities for the restoration of ancient and historic fabrics, clothing, furniture and fabric artefacts. The project also involved delivering high performance laboratories that needed to maintain strictly controlled environments, teaching facilities for post graduate development and a high degree of security as dictated and required by the British Museum.
Gentle consulting provided the services of lead consultant and project manager for the project plus the service of clerk of works during the construction stage.
Gentle consulting, as lead consultant, took total responsibility for managing the project through to its successful completion.
