Strip out and refurbishment of redundant chemistry teaching laboratories to provide a new regional teaching facility for the Department of Further Education and Science (DFES), including associated new laboratory space. The facility is one of only 9 in the country and was the first to be completed on time and within budget. The works involved he remodelling and upgrade of a 1970?s stair core to provide a modern approach in keeping with the new facilities and and interface with building 30. The project also involved the complete relocation of the existing chemistry teaching facility from level 3 to level 4 including the provision of 14 new fume cupboards.
