Construction of a multi-purpose community facility including green keepers building, purpose sports hall and head quarters accommodation for the Red Cross, Air Training Corps and Army Cadet Force. Built on the site of the old Fleming Park golf course pavilion the new building replaces the ageing Nightingale Centre. The facility includes a large multi-use hall plus several smaller halls to provide accommodation for community, youth and children's groups. A special feature of the development is the opening up of a river that has flowed below ground for over 40 years.
