Gentle Consulting was appointed to manage the vacation of this existing eleven storey building, delivering an empty building in readiness for a ?20m refurbishment project. The commission involved constructing 15,000sq ft of fully serviced modular accommodation together with extensive alterations and refurbishment to four existing buildings around the campus. This was followed by the relocation of over 500 staff and students into the newly formed spaces, including the procurement and move management of the removals operations, An enabling works package was also undertaken including the removal of fixtures/fittings and extensive asbestos removal/strip-out.
Gentle Consulting acted as Master Consultant for the enabling contract, providing a ?one stop? service encompassing project management, design, structural engineering, cost consultancy and construction management working alongside the University?s Estates and Facilities department to successfully delver this highly challenging project on time and with a significant cost saving.
